25 Days of Christmas

DAY 1: Make a gingerbread house :)

Welcome the 25 days of Christmas!  December 1st has been so good to us.  I am loving this holiday season. Our tree rocks, we have some pretty rad ideas (it's getting people to go along with the ideas is the problem), we have some yummy scentsies, good recipes, and some mighty fine peeps to share all of it with. Today Marq and I welcomed the family to the 25 days of Christmas with a breakfast of snowman crepes/pancakes/ebelskiver goodness.  Then I got all sorts of excited for Marq to take off the first day of December, she responds with, "How old are you? Five?" HAA! We need some little kids around here I guess.

P.S. I'm really strugglin trying to find a blog template and background.  If any of you bloggers out there have any suggestions I would LOVE to hear :) Over and Out!

Rent a Child

I was informed this Halloween as I tried to get multiple kids to let me come trick or treating with them, that I'm not too old.  "You aren't too old until you get married." Woah! That's news to me!  What the freak am I doing sitting here!?  I should've had on my Daisy Duck costume 10 hrs ago! And you better believe I rock that outfit...big beanie butt and everything.
But I've come to a conclusion as I sit here writing my final paper, due tomorrow that's worth HALF my grade. (crappers i know) Next year...i'm renting a child.  I'm going to put an add in classifieds (that's where the adds go right?) that says:
child between the age of 4 and 10, who loves to dress up and can stay up past 7:00. Who says "trick or treat" and sometimes will even say we just want the trick...just to see the reaction of the 'candy giver outer'. A child who says thank you when given candy, and have a nice night when leaving the home.
That's not too much to ask right?  Be looking for my add in the paper a week before halloween...especially if you have a child that meets the description.

Mykie :)

Q & A with the Birthday GIRL! aka IT.

1. What was the best part of your birthday?
Granny accidentally helping Will and Maury win House of Fire with the gigantic table slap. Also, mom replacing the word 'landed' with the word 'lit'

2. What was your favorite present? (not that we care about the prezies at all :) )
I, of course, love all my prezzies.  I am really excited about my new 1,000 triva question game about America.

3. What year has been your favorite party so far?
I really liked my Harry Potter theme party (25 years old).  We were prepared to play quidditch. Marq even borrowed dodge balls from the middle school! Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate, and we weren't able to play.

My dad promised me that we'd go to Chuckie Cheese next year.  I think it's a good idea, but I'm not sure there will be anyone who will be willing to go, and I don't have any friends under the age of twelve.

4. What was the best part of 26?
I am finally starting to feel like I'm accomplishing something! It has been really fun being part of my own career development.  I am feeling like my personality is pretty stable and I know the things that are important to me.  I really liked that about 26.

5. What do you plan on doing in the year to come?
This year, I'd like to buy a house and graduate with my Master's degree.  I'd also like to take an international vacation and, of course, read a few more books.

6. What's something that you want to accomplish being the new two seven?
See above.

7. Any other comments?
No comments. My email address is if anyone else has comments and questions for me.

As you can see Mykie had a really wondeeful birthday.  We ate, played a very rousing game of house of fire, and watched duck dynasty.
We attempted to get a group picture...mmmm EPIC FAIL.

So there ya have it :) Happy Birthday Mykie...and a happy 25th of October to everyone else, and to all a good night.

Know what's real bad about having a picture taking family?  When you're trying to get your stuff done and you end up looking through pictures for a thousand hours!  As I was reminiscing with the pops and showin him the pics, I came across this beauty...It made me "lul".  Another sidenote-(since moving home I have had to be the designated translator between the parents and this child (see below)). The slang of this generation is hilarious...and it leaves the older generations totally bewildered.  Sometimes I don't even get it. And i thought i was still young..?)  Some of the favorites are:

  • "Totes Awk" = Totally Awkward
  • "Totes Cray Cray"= Totally Crazy
  • "Totes Ser Ser"= Totally Serious
  • "Lul"= Laugh out loud
  • Ohh emmmm ggg= Oh my gosh
  • and of course saying Hashtag before EVERYTHING  (no matter how many times we've tried to explain the hashtag...the parentals STILL don't get it) #yagottaloveem :)

this is one of my favorite pictures of this child.
and this is why.  We had barely stepped foot into our weekend condo when all the sudden evil gene was on that ledge.  Mom tried and tried to coax her down and she was not havin it.  We also have a problem around here. Gene is just so dang funny that it's very hard not to laugh.  So the more mad mom gets...the funnier the situation gets...and the funnier Gene gets.  Can ya tell how this is a never ending cycle at the Beorchia household?
Obviously she didn't listen...and flips the bird instead.  How can you not love her. And where did we find her the next morning you might ask?

Eating her breakfast on the ledge. But this time she brought a friend. Are you surprised?
"Look mom! No hands!"

Happy Birthday Eve, Mykie!
